Parking Garage Project, Aarhus, Denmark
2024
delfin's car is a stripped, painted and sculptural reworking of a Volvo model PV544 in the project space parking garage project, located in a private high-end parking garage in Aarhus. The models PV444 and PV544 were Volvo's first unibody cars, initiated in 1943 due to the increasing demand for Swedish iron for the war industry. delfin's car focuses on the car as a vehicle for intentions, as a catalyst and accelerator for civilization, and on how geopolitics is present in even our most intimate human relationships. The exhibition and the title of the work is named after the former owner of the car who intended to restore it for his wife, but abandoned the project along the way.
